My health changed overnight, and I went from someone who won’t pretend she was ever *Million Dollar Baby*, but happily smashed out regular boxercise classes, who loved reliving her childhood passion for horse riding and occasionally signed up for the odd muddy challenge or a mountain hike (who am I kidding — they were big hills, but you get the picture).
Then life threw me a proper curveball
How I Got Here
I went from being constantly on the move to pacing myself so I wasn’t exhausted just from walking up the stairs. Who knew recovering from taking a shower was even a thing?
And honestly, the identity shift didn’t stop there.
I went from being the last one standing at most events — the girl who *never* knew when to call it a night —to a teetotal, serial early-nighter who rarely sees past 9pm. Trust me, no one is more shocked than I am.
As scream-into-a-pillow frustrating as this journey has been, there are parts of my old life I no longer crave or even have space for anymore. Humbling stuff… and also unexpectedly grounding.
In true Yorkshire fashion, I cracked on — stubbornly, slowly, and with a sense of humour that kept me going.
It taught me what real strength looks like: messy, human, sometimes laugh-or-you’ll-cry chaotic, and absolutely nothing like the motivational posters would have you believe.
After rebuilding my life one light bulb moment after the other, I gained my ACCPH accreditation because I knew I didn’t want to just survive this — I wanted to be of use to others experiencing their own plot twist too.
All of that suddenly shifted
ready for a new challenge, even with new limits
Plan B was shaped by lived experience and professional training, rooted in the belief that unexpected change deserves thoughtful, compassionate support. With ACCPH-accredited coaching at its core, our work exists to walk alongside people navigating a shift in health, identity, or direction. This is why we support those who are…
newly diagnosed and overwhelmed
adjusting to life with a long-term condition
figuring out who they are now
preparing to return to work without burning out
Because you didn’t choose this plot twist — but you *can* choose what happens next.
Living with a diagnosis changes everything.
Your pace, your priorities, even your personality at times.
But here’s the truth:
You can still build a life that feels meaningful — even if it looks different.
✔ a coach who’s lived it
✔ straight-talking guidance
✔ space to feel what you actually feel
✔ tools to rebuild confidence and identity
✔ support that meets you where you are — not where others think you “should” be
You don’t need to know exactly what you want — you just need to start.

Alongside formal qualifications, ongoing self-development is a core part of both my practice and my values. Living with chronic illness means growth isn’t theoretical — it’s lived, evolving, and deeply personal. I actively invest in continued learning, reflection, and supervision to ensure my coaching remains relevant, compassionate, and responsive to real life. Staying present, informed, and self-aware isn’t an add-on to Plan B — it’s part of the responsibility of doing this work well.
